Alicia Keys rocks a studded denim
Alicia Keys opted for a double denim look for an event in New York City on Thursday.
The 43-year-old songstress — who donated $60,000 to her alma mater in March — wore a matching jean jacket and jeans with tiny blue stone accents.
She layered a low-cut, scoop-neck white top underneath her outer layer, which was moto-inspired.
The New York-bred music artist wore her dark, curly hair in an elaborate, braided updo and coated red lipstick on her pout.
Keys rocked large, gold bamboo hoop earrings as she accepted an award at the National Action Network's Women's Empowerment Luncheon.

Alicia rounded out her bold look with a pair of beige boots with a chunky heel.
She dazzled in a diamond-speckled nameplate necklace as she took to the stage to receive a plaque.
Also on Thursday, the longtime pianist used her Instagram platform to promote a new music video for her song Kaleidoscope.
The tune is from the new Broadway musical Hell's Kitchen, which premiered in November.
Engaging her 27.5 million followers, she wrote: 'Tomorrow the Kaleidoscope music video drops at 9am EST and it’s a BIG VIBE!!'
The mother-of-two, who is married to producer and entrepreneur Swizz Beatz, added, 'Join the Hell’s Kitchen Magic. Sing this Song. Come see the show. Fall in love with the whole story. You’re gonna feel different, I’m tellin’ you!'
She used a string of starry-eyed emoji before tagging the play's official Instagram account.
The video snippet showed Keys engaging in a performance with a group of people on a basketball court in the Big Apple.

Along with her label Roc Nation, the Grammy winner donated $60,000 to a GoFundMe organized by 7th grade student Tennyson Artigliere to save the theater program at the Professional Performing Arts School (PPAS) in NYC.
In addition to the $53,000 already raised, her donation will allow the fundraiser to surpass its $102,000 goal, which is required to maintain the school's partnership with theater company Waterwell.
Fellow alum Jeremy Allen White previously urged his followers to donate as well, sharing a link to the GoFundMe on his Instagram Story.
'This is where I went to high school, it's an incredible program with some incredible teachers,' the Golden Globe winner wrote. 'Please help IF YOU ARE ABLE. I have donated.'
